Magnificent Pair of Hand Painted Sevres Style Lidded Urns

Offered for sale a most unusual genuine pair of porcelain lidded urns.

They have a striking Rose Pompadour pink Sevres style ground with cartouche framed painitngs to either side. One side shows a classical scene with nymphs and cherubs, and to the other side an idealized Greco-Roman landscape. Both are hand painted with fine delicate skill and framed in ornate gilt scrolling cartouche. To either side of the bulbous bodies are highly worked white floral style gilt handles, leading the eye towards the finial topped gilded lids.The body leads down to a knopped stem sitting on superbly ornate ormolu bases.

These exquisite, highly worked, genuine matched pair of vases are offered in excellent condition, free of any damage or restoration.
