Set with a circular shape mixed cut blue sapphire, measuring 4.8mm in diameter and 3.17mm in depth. Flanked to each side by a round brilliant cut diamond, each measuring 2.6mm in diameter and set within a tapering channel setting with plain polished sidesto the split sides and plain polished "D" shape cross section shank.
The ring is hallmarked 18ct gold London, 1988, sponsors mark indistinct. Calculated sapphire weight approx 0.61 metric carat, assessed colour medium to strong blue, assessed clarity moderate (N.B. the sapphire is chipped to the pavilion).
